Privacy Policy
Gymopol AB (“Gymopol AB” or "we") provides Gymopol a social platform for fitness enthusiasts (“Gymopol” or the “Services”). In connection with your use of the Services, we process personal data. This Privacy policy explains how and why we process personal data.
Personal data that we collect and process
We process the personal data about you that you provide when you register a user account (“Account”) to become a member in Gymopol and the data and any content that you subsequently provide when you use the Services. In addition, we may automatically collect technical information (IP address, browser, operating system, etc.) and information about the Services that you have used. We also collect information through cookies, if you have chosen to accept cookies. (See also our Cookie Policy).
Use of personal data
We use personal data to:
- Manage your registration or termination of your Account and membership in Gymopol,
- Manage usernames and permissions for your Account,
- Manage payment details and your choice of settings in Gymopol,
- Deliver the Services under our Membership Terms.
The legal basis for our processing of personal data above is the agreement (“Agreement”) that you have entered into with us for us to provide the Services. As regards the processing of any personal data related to your health, it is processed on the basis of your consent, provided through your use of the Services. Depending on the relevant jurisdictions and regulations, separate consent may be requested from you. We also use personal data for:
- Marketing of the Services and third party products and services, such as advertisements, promotions and offers,
- Analysis and development of the Services.
The legal basis for our processing in relation to marketing is your consent, which can be withdrawn at any time. The legal basis for our processing for analysis and development is our legitimate interest.
Who has access to personal data?
With the exception of publicly available information, we will not disclose personal data to anyone outside of Gymopol AB, except to external IT service providers (authenticating, operating, support and hosting providers), who in some cases process personal data on our behalf. We also use payment solution providers who work independently and are responsible for the processing of personal data themselves.
Publicly available information
Which personal data that is publicly available on Gymopol depends on your choice of settings in your Account. You can in Settings -> Account Privacy choose between “Private”, “Semi-private” and “Public”. In the feature “Finder” it is possible to search for other members within 100 km from you. The feature “Feed” shows members within 300 km from you and the feature “Explorer” shows reels from members all round the world. If you initiate a contact with another member by using the feature to “Wave” and the other members waves back, you become “contacts”. Once you are a contact to another member, your Account is accessible by the other member as if it is public and you can in the same way access the other member’s account. You can then also have conversations with your contact (exchange messages, images etc.). If one member removes another member as a contact, all conversations between these two members will disappear. You can see a list of all your contacts in “Messenger” under “Contacts”.
Private
If you choose the setting “Private” certain features, such as “Finder” will not be available, and your Account will not be shown to other members in Finder.
Profile Information
- Biography: your personal description, visible to all members.
- Date of Joining: the date you joined the platform, visible to all members.
- Gender: entirely private to you.
- Date of Birth: entirely private to you.
Posts
- Content & Captions: all your posts, their captions and numbers of reactions to them are private to you and your contacts, but not visible to other members. Your posts will not be accessible through Feed, Explorer or through direct access.
- Reactions: Your identity as a reactor to other public posts is only visible to the owner of the post.
Activities & Interests
- Activities: all activities are private to you as part of your profile.
- Music: all added music from Spotify is private to you as part of your profile.
- Gyms: all your gyms are private to you as part of your profile.
Location-Based Details
- City & Proximity: your city and distance to other members are shown if they are within 100 km of you.
Statistics
- Post Count: total number of posts, visible to all other members.
- Activity Count: total number of posts, visible to all other members.
- Reaction Count: total number of reactions to all your posts, visible to all other members.
Training partner
- Training partner: preferences for training partner are private to you.
Messenger
- Contacts: your contacts are entirely private to you.
- Waves: members who waved at you or you have waved at are entirely private to you.
- Messages: your messages are entirely private to you and the other party. No automated content monitoring will be applied to conversations. Conversations are examined only if they are reported by any of the participants.
Semi-private
If you choose the setting Semi-private, your Account accounts will be shown in Finder to other members and you will have access to Finder to search for other members.
Profile Information
- Biography: your personal description, visible to all members.
- Date of Joining: the date you joined the platform, visible to all members.
- Gender: used in our search algorithms but will not be shown to other members directly.
- Date of Birth: used in our search algorithms but will not be shown to other members directly.
Posts
- Content & Captions: all your posts, their captions and numbers of reactions to them are private to you and your contacts, but not visible to other members. Your posts will not be accessible through Feed, Explorer or through direct access.

- Activities: will be used in our search algorithms and will also be shown directly to other members.
- Music: will be shown directly to other members.
- Gyms: will be used in our search algorithms and will also be shown directly to other members who are within 100 km range.
Location-Based Details
- City & Proximity: your city and distance to others are shown if they are within 100 km of you.
Statistics
- Post Count: total number of posts, visible to all other members.
- Activity Count: total number of posts, visible to all other members.
- Reaction Count: total number of reactions to all your posts, visible to all other members.

Where and for how long is personal data stored?
Personal data is stored in Gymopol and with our IT service providers. The personal data is stored for as long as is necessary to provide the Services, but is deleted or anonymized no later than one month after you terminate your Account, unless the data is needed to defend a legal claim or if required by law. Personal data stored on the basis of your consent will be deleted if you withdraw your consent.
Your rights
You have the right:
- To know what personal data we process about you and for what purpose,
- To know who receives the personal data and how long we keep the personal data,
- To request that inaccurate or incomplete personal data be corrected or that we delete such personal data,
- To object to certain processing of personal data and request that the processing of personal data is restricted,
- To obtain the personal data you have provided in a machine-readable format and to transmit it to another personal data controller.
If you are not satisfied with our processing of personal data, you also have the right to complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, which is our supervisory authority for the processing of personal data.
